"OLD AGE IS NOT FOR SISSIES" (PART 4) Middle age is when you have a choice of two temptations and you chose the one that will get you home earlier. I must be getting absent minded. Whenever I complain that things aren't what they used to be, I always forget to include myself. Old age lends poignancy to the saying "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. You know when you're getting older when getting lucky means you've won the lottery. To me, old age is fifteen years older than I am. One should never trust a woman who tells one her real age. A woman who would tell that would tell anything PNW Convention, Eugene Oregon The 87th annual Pacific Northwest District convention was held in Eugene Oregon. Bill Blake provided a history of Averill Field from its near sale in 1989 through its development as a community center for youth of all ages. Following their comments, a plaque showing a picture of Earl Averill Sr. and a listing of his baseball accomplishments was unveiled at the entrance of the Tillicum Kiwanis "tot lot" Play area. The Averill Youth Complex consists of the Snohomish Skate Park, the Everett Olsen Youth Center that is operated by the Boys &: Girls Club of Snohomish County, and the Hal Moe Pool, and the "tot lot" with play equipments donated by the Kiwanis Club of Snohomish-Tillicum. The City is grateful for all the hard work of many dedicated volunteers that brought this complex to fruition for the enjoyment of the City's young people. On May 10, 1994 Past International President, Dr. Will Bleckman visited Averill Field on his way to Mount Vernon and presented Snohomish-Tillicum's with an Award of Merit Accomplishment. Tillicum Tabloid Editorial Tom Wood our editor set up the Front Page before he left for Pomeroy with his Daughter Kim, for a two-week rest. He is Anemic, so Kim is going to feed him back to health, if he doesn't drive her in to a new straightjacket. The format is temporary, as I had to get this done for the mail on time. If you find errors or misspelling don't blame Tom. Its all my goof. Stan Jones
